From Ms. Jones:

Being fairly new to teaching in Madison County, I am thrilled to accept the position of Agriscience Teacher and FFA advisor for James Madison Preparatory High School. I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology from the University of South Florida, as well as experience working for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service conducting sea turtle research on Egmont Key, FL. As a mother to two young children, my priorities have shifted to homesteading here in Madison and helping to contribute to our community in ways that will help motivate and educate, not only my own children, but all those who find themselves among my students. It has been so encouraging to see the tremendous amount of support from so many in our community to help build our program here at James Madison. Our community is truly amazing and I am proud to call myself a Madisonian. This year, we have some big plans for our FFA students and agriscience classes. From establishing a food forest, to expanding into animal science with our very own chickens, our students will have plenty of new and educational experiences that we hope will stay with them for years to come. With the help of our community, we also plan to learn how to grow and process sugarcane and hope to create a new tradition of milling sugar for our future students. I want to thank all of those who have pledged support for our FFA program and I look forward to working with all of you to make this a fantastic year for our students!
Warm Regards,
Ms. Jones
