JMPHS Virtual Learning Day WED 4-15-2026 (click here)

JMPHS Virtual Day: Wednesday, April 15, 2026

The purpose of our Virtual Learning Day is to practice being prepared during a situation such as a bad weather day so that if the internet is still available, we can get credit for a school day and not have to make it up later.

It is still a school day, but students will do their school assignments from home or somewhere where they have access to the internet.

Students must have internet access. If they need to borrow a Chromebook from the school front office, students need to check one out from the school front office.

Teachers will post assignments on Google Classroom, which all students at JMPHS are familiar with. Teachers will talk about the assignment for their class prior to the Virtual Day so that students will know what to expect. Students can log in to the Google Classroom website with a computer or chromebook. Also, there is a Google Classroom app for phones that may work well for some students/assignments.

The Google Classroom assignment for each class period must be started, completed, and submitted during the normal class period time. The assignment will only be available during the normal class period time. Once the assignment is completed and submitted, this will count as both attendance and as an assignment grade.

1stP 8:05-9am

2ndP 9:04-9:52am

3rdP 9:56-10:44am

4thP 10:48-11:36am

5thP 12:12-1pm

6thP 1:04-1:52pm

7thP 1:56-2:44pm

Once students complete the assignment and submit it, they do not have to stay logged in to Google classroom for that period, but they will need to log back in to Google classroom for the next class period.

Zoom, or other live video conferencing, will not be used.

If students encounter any problems during the Virtual Day, they should email their teacher immediately.

If a student is sick or going to the doctor/dentist (or other) and can't complete an assignment for any class period, it will count as an absence. Normal rules will apply: the student will need to bring an excuse for the absence and they will have 3 school days to make up their work.

For students with a class at MCHS:

Football players: from Coach Harris- players should not to miss 7th period weightlifting (provide your own transportation to MCHS).

Band students: from Mr. Drost- students are to attend class if they can provide their own transportation. Otherwise, have your parent email him stating that you do not have transportation to MCHS.

Semester Exam Schedule DEC2025 - click here

Click on the pdf link below to see the schedule.

Midterm and Final Exams are a critical part of the education process at James Madison. In order for our students to be academically successful they must realize the importance of academic responsibility.

If a student misses a midterm or final exam, at the established time, the missed exam must be made up by the Friday of the week the student returns to school. The exam will be made up after school. The made up exam will be scheduled with the faculty member in accordance with the faculty members convenience. The only way an exam can be made up is if the absence is approved by the school administration and documentation of that absence is in order. If the exam is not made up by the prescribed time, the student will receive a zero (0).

Thank you for your support as James Madison continues to be a beacon of academic excellence in Madison County.

Regards, Mark Akerman
